Medicine lends itself to a study of the past. By standing on the shoulders of earlier researchers we can view the pathways to the future. This realisation led me inevitably to study the history of the hospitals in which I worked and to research the lives of my predecessors in these institutions. This activity resulted in the collection of much archival illustrative material, which I hope to be able to post on this website in time.
